A Somerset Reunion

Some days ago, Punya and her partner, Amiten, visited me in Somerset. We haven’t seen each other since 2004 when I was managing a youth hostel in Scotland and saw them quite often. Punya was down here on some business with Croydon Hall. It was the first time she has been to Croydon Hall but Amiten was there in 1999 when he worked with the construction crew doing the electrics. Things have changed a bit since then!

Punya, Amiten and Veena

I took Punya and Amiten to do some sightseeing at the local scenic spots. They loved the village of Dunster. Punya said she had seen such pretty cottages in children’s fairy tale books but she didn’t know that they actually existed in real life! I also took them on my favourite walk, which includes my favourite meditating spot, on the Somerset Coastal Path. It was very low tide and we got some amazing photos of the exposed rocks.

We had a chance to chat face to face about our various projects – OSHOinUK obviously being the most important one. But we have now started a new venture: editing and translating – see www.songmountain.co.uk – and maybe even self-publishing.

We had such a great time together. That special sannyasin connection... I hope it won’t be another five years before I see them again!
