Letter from Dinraj

Yatro writes: "Neera left her body not long after dawn on Sunday 12th April. She had spent the night, surrounded by her partner Dinraj, family and friends – with music, silence, laughter, love, being held. She left very peacefully, her breath simply stopped. And she looked radiant." Her Death Celebration will be held on Friday 17th April 2009 7pm in Scorriton. Details...

Beloveds,

Just wanted to send out a message as to the latest developments concerning Neera’s health. As most of you know she was diagnosed with cervical cancer more than a year ago here in the UK. Last summer it was discovered she had secondary cancer in a few other areas. After twelve months of various treatments (both conventional and "alternative") she seemed to have been coping well with the effects.

After a scan this November things actually looked like they were responding to the treatments with even improvement in some areas. However, after the new year she began experiencing more discomfort and increased pain. Another round of scans revealed a worse scenario, as the tumors appear to be growing. One tumor in particular at the base of her spine is believed to be the source of most of her discomfort.

At this point she has been advised to do more radiotherapy to help relieve the pressure of that tumor, so that will begin next week. At the moment she is in a Hospice for pain management. Remarkably, her spirits are still high and its amazing how much light and energy she still carries through all this. Both her and I just wanted to thank everyone for their loving and beautiful support through it, and although we are oceans apart we feel each one of you...

Since Neera is not much on the computer these days, I liaison for her any messages, wishes, prayers, etc. and we encourage you to continue with what you can, it REALLY helps.

Although our address may change soon, as we look to relocate a little closer to friends and loved ones in the area (as extra support is needed), our telephone numbers are the same as well as email contacts. I will provide them again in case any of you don't have them. Also, we still appreciate any financial help, as I am still not working in order to be full time carer for Neera and most extra support comes only from Neera's elderly parents.

Thanks again and we wish you all love and light. Stay in touch...

Raj
