On an Osho Greek Odyssey

I hear the celebration music for the last stage of dynamic. Seeing the pink of the rising sun on the rocks next to the sea as the light permeates the space, I dance in celebration. There are about 30 people in the room. We have been through the magic that is Osho dynamic meditation - the breathing machine of the first stage, the immediate cacophony when the second stage begins, the "hoo, hoo, hoo" rhythm of the third, incredible silence of the fourth, and finally, this, the celebration. Another day begins. The sea laps on the small beach outside.

Afterwards, many of us will take a few moments to get our swimming things and go for a swim before breakfast, coming back to resume the workshop day with Geet Chung, a very gentle combination of movement, breathing and awareness before we look at the question, "What came up for you in dynamic?" and see where that takes us.

We are on the Greek Island of Aegina (the nearest island to the mainland) participating in the "Holographic Transomatic Mandala Self-Healing Intensive" with Swami Devageet. Devageet was Osho’s dentist for many years, and one of the founders of Croydon Hall (then the Osho Life Academy) in England. He now travels the world, spending many months annually in Greece and India (Poona), also leading workshops regularly in Latvia and Mexico, doing the work entrusted to him by Osho, which has developed into a new body of work, of which the "Holographic Healing Intensive" is a part.

I first heard about Devageet’s work in Greece when I was in Poona last year. I didn’t really know what it involved, but the combination of Osho and Greek Island sounded very attractive. I arrived anticipating a kind of "beginners group", actually it was much much more than that.

We were accommodated in a beautiful space - the Argo Spa Hotel - which we have exclusive use of - right next to the sea, very comfortable and colourful, friendly, and with good food. My first impression on arrival was of being among fellow travellers again, and above all, of Osho’s energy, tangible, palpable.

We started that evening by meeting in the beautiful meditation room overlooking the sea. There seemed to be three main nationalities - of Latin origin (South American, Spanish, Italian), Latvian and German. Not to forget the USA and Canada. I was the only person from England.

Over the following week Devageet worked a lot with individuals, using a process called Transomatic Dialogue. As with Osho discourses, where a question from one person seems relevant to everybody, so each person’s issue resonated with all. From a simple beginning, which could be a memory, physical symptom, a feeling in the body, there was an amazing unfolding, a journey to the core, at once simple and mind-blowing, which invariably ended up with profound healing, a silence, peace, joy, celebration.

This was also something we could use to work with on ourselves.

Devageet worked with The Mandala of Original Wholeness, a beautiful graphic depiction of the microsomis self in its relation to the macroscosmic wholeness. He uses it for many aspects of healing, especially for healing early life, and inner man and inner woman issues. It offers a window through which we can access the deepest parts of our self.

He has also devised a method of A.U.M.: AUM chanting; sometimes alone, often with projected or visualised colour. We created a healing circle, and also a circle of higher consciousness. We also chanted in combination with colour and different arm movements. It felt like being part of a mystery school.

After the lunch break we always had half an hour’s dancing. With many "Latins" in the group there was much sexy hip swinging, flirtatious connecting, even congas. A couple of times I arrived there thinking dancing was the last thing I wanted to do but how to resist? - my body thought otherwise. Mama mia!

Whatever we did was always underpinned by the Osho meditations, Dynamic, Kundalini and the Evening Meeting, (not to mention love and a sense of humour).

No wonder I felt I had never had such a full week in all my life!

My personal miracle was participating in all the meditations while enjoying the group. After suffering from symptoms of chronic fatigue for 20 years I was used to having to monitor my energy. I went beyond my wildest dreams of what energy I had, and erased the boundaries of what I could and could not do. Devageet worked on my "knees" in a Transomatic Dialogue session, which because of pain normally allowed me only a short walk or dance, and they were certainly fully tested, and stood up well to, a week of much more than that.

Back home in England I feel much more alive in my body, there is much less mind activity, and am getting used to the new me, and seeing what life brings now. This morning in my living room in Ashburton, Devon, with my housemate, Surabhi, I am in the final stage of dynamic, celebrating another day, as the sun comes up, and the birds sing.
